This policy describes how Donald Wono (“I”, “me”) collects and uses information in the Audissey iPhone app and on wono.dev. Contact: donald.wono.dev@gmail.com.
Summary
Audissey is a personal library and text-to-speech reader. Stories you import are stored on your device. Standard speech synthesis, including Audissey Neural Voices, runs locally. You do not need an account. Optional iCloud sync, advertising, in-app purchase, and user-supplied API keys are described below.
Information stored on your device
Audissey stores imported story text, chapter progress, shelves, reader settings, pronunciation dictionaries, cached audio you choose to pre-render, and similar library data on your iPhone. This data stays on the device unless you enable iCloud sync or use an optional third-party integration.
iCloud sync
If you use Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit features, library data can sync across your devices using your Apple ID. That sync is provided by Apple. I do not operate a separate Audissey account server for your library.
Content you import
When you paste a URL, Audissey fetches that page so it can extract readable chapter text and, if present, author-support links such as Patreon or PayPal. Those requests go to the site you chose. I do not receive a copy of the story. Do not import content you are not allowed to copy or listen to.
Advertising
The free version of Audissey shows banner ads from Google AdMob on screens such as Library, Shelf, and Ambient Listening. Google and its partners may collect advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, and similar data to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where allowed.
Audissey Pro is an optional one-time purchase that removes these ads.

On iOS you can limit ad tracking in system settings. You can also use Google’s ad settings and any in-ad privacy options shown by AdMob / UMP consent forms where those apply.
In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple. I receive a record that a product such as Audissey Pro was bought or restored so the app can unlock features. I do not receive your full payment card details.
Optional API keys (power users)
You may choose to enter your own API keys for services such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, or ElevenLabs. Those keys are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. They are sent only to the provider you enabled, and only when you use that feature (for example speaker detection or premium streamed voices). I do not collect those keys. The third party’s privacy policy then applies to the chapter text or audio you send them.
Information I do not collect
I do not require name, email, or an Audissey account to use the app. I do not sell personal information. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies beyond what your browser or host may log for basic delivery and security.
Children
Audissey is not directed at children under 13. It can import unrestricted web fiction chosen by the user. Do not use the app if you are under 13.
Your choices
- Delete stories or the app to remove local library data.
- Turn off iCloud for Audissey in iOS settings if you do not want library sync.
- Upgrade to Pro to remove AdMob banners.
- Remove any API keys you added.
- Email donald.wono.dev@gmail.com with privacy questions or deletion requests.
Changes
If this policy changes, I will update the date on this page. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
